Stipend and general fee and tuition reduction (tuition per credit) are two types of International Student Scholarship Awards at NCNU.

Tuition Reduction:

Two types of waivers: Partial reduction (General fee and Tuition criteria as domestic registered students) and full waiver.

  • Bachelor Program: The maximum reduction period for a bachelor’s program is utmost years.
  • Master Program: The maximum exemption of the General fee and Tuition (tuition per credit) for the master program is up to 12 credits per semester for years.
  • Ph.D. Program: The maximum exemption of the General fee and Tuition (tuition per credit) for the Ph.D. program is up to 12 credits per semester for years.

Award Amounts:

  1. Master Program: The minimum amount of the university-level scholarship per person per month ranges fromNT$2,000 to NT$4,000. 
  2. Ph.D. Program: The minimum amount of the university-level scholarship per person per month ranges fromNT$6,000 to NT$8,000. 
  3. Maximum exemption of General fee and Tuition (tuition per credit) for the master’s program is up to 12 credits per semester for 2 years and for 4 years for the Ph.D. program.

Freshman Scholarship

New students who plan to apply for admission to our school must prepare the admission application documents as a review form, and submit them together when applying for admission to NCNU.

Scholarship for Current students (Apply for every semester)

  1. Application Period:
    students must apply for scholarships for the following semester from May 1st to May 15th, and from November 16th to November 30th each year.
  2. Students must achieve an average score of 80 or higher for the previous semester, or those who have been recommended by the head of the department and have no record of misconduct.
  3. The Office of International Affairs has final jurisdiction over the list of students awarded scholarships.

  6. The above regulations were translated from the original Chinese. In the event of any discrepancies between the two versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.

Taiwan Government Scholarships

  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Taiwan Scholarship 
  1. Applicable Degree and awarding duration: Bachelor 4 years, Master 2 years, PhD 4 years
  2. Coverage and Amount: Monthly stipend NT$ 30,000/month and round-trip economy-class plane tickets
  • Ministry of Education(MOE) Taiwan Scholarship
  1. Applicable Degree and awarding duration: Bachelor 4 years, Master 2 years, Ph.D. 4 years
  2. Bachelor Students: Stipend NT$15,000/month |Master’s and Doctoral Students: Stipend NT$20,000 / month
  3. Coverage and Amount: 
    Bachelor: Tuition waiver and Monthly stipend NT$ 15,000/ month
    Master and Ph.D.: Tuition waiver and Monthly stipend NT$ 20,000/month
  4. The cap on tuition waiver is NT$ 40,000.
  • Ministry of Science and Technology(MOST) Taiwan Scholarship
  1. Applicable Degree and awarding duration: Master 2 years, PhD 3 years
  2. Coverage and Amount: Monthly stipend NT$30,000/month

Elite Scholarship Program (Project Scholarships)

  1. Applicable Student: Current lecturer from South East Asia pursuing a master’s degree or Ph.D. in Taiwan
  2. Awarding Duration: Master 2 years, Ph.D. 3 years
  3. Coverage and Amount: NT$ 25,000 /month
