International students wishing to work in Taiwan (either on or off campus) must apply for and obtain a work permit before starting work. Please note that if you hold a job without applying for a work permit, you may be fined NT$30,000 – 150,000!
Warning: If you are caught breaking the rules, you will be fined (30,000NTD~150,000NTD), and you will be deported back to your country.
The maximum approved period for work permit application of foreign students is one year. The longest hours per week are 20 hours except for winter and summer vacation. Foreign students apply for work permit during October 1 of the applying year to September 30 of next year in the academic year, the duration of the permit cannot exceed September 30 of the next year.
The maximum work hours are 20 hours per week, except during summer and winter breaks.
The Work Permit application requires 7-10 working days (not including weekends and National holidays) starting from the day after the Workforce Development Agency receives it.

You may transfer the application fee to a post office or pay at the counter of the Workforce Development Agency (WDA).
